How to Apply for an Organizational Grant

Application to the Marin Music Chest to fund activities to enhance 
music participation, performance and appreciation 
by non-profit organizations in Marin County

The Marin Music Chest provides scholarships based on merit to young classical musicians who audition in the Spring before our Artistic Council.  In addition, using funds generated by our endowment, we fund select non-profits which in turn assist music students who need financial help to study music.

Requirements:
​
  1. Applications are due each year by June 30. Organizations must re-apply each year support is being requested.
  2. The Music Chest requires a yearly written report from organizations receiving funds on how the funds were spent and the impact they have had. 
  3. Each organization must send a representative or group to one of Music Chest’s annual concerts, either the Scholarship Winners Concert or the Young Artists Concert, both of which take place in May.

To apply for financial support, return your proposal with the following items completed to either our PO box or email address.

  6. Person administering funds
  7. Non-profit tax ID number 
  8. Mission and History
  9. Proposal overview 
  10. Benefit to students and community
  11. Cost of participation in program (aggregate and/or per person)
  12. Number of students in need of support 
  13. Age range of participating students
  14. Amount of money needed to provide that support
  15. Schools in which students are enrolled 
  16. Any other information we should know
